DP Spring Party

My mouth hurts from too much laughing, my tummy full from too much eating and my feet hurt from too much shopping. Nothing new. Just another brilliant day with these crazy bunch -- although its been a while since we did hung out during the day. The fashion event wasn't too exciting for me and their collection did not exactly satiate my shopping lust. In fact, I left the store with only a single silver ring (despite the tempting 20% discount offer). Nevertheless, I had a blast, it's been a wonderful weekend so far and I'm exhausted!

Going Organic

The cotton tote I designed finally came in last night. It's smaller than I expected and kinda regretted requesting the strap to be changed to black.

But overall its pretty neat and cute and I'd print another one once I've decided on a design.

The quote, in case you're wondering, came from A. He'd came up with a couple of random slogans and put them up on his blog. I simply picked the one that was most interesting, random and less tom-cruise-sounding-like-a-scientologist and more like something-that-will-go-with-your-outfits.

I just love menswear inspired fashion for ladies - from leather boots, to men-cut vests, suspenders, starched shirts and boyfriends jeans and everything. Maybe I should rummage my husband's wardrobe once in a while for some delightful finds that will maybe look better on me than on him. ;)

Obsession with Prints

Sometimes when you are used to living your entire life in a met city you can't help but develop a deep affection for smoke, starbucks coffee and automobiles.

Fashion-wise, i love simple clothes with a touch a quirkiness and its just so bloddy unfair that the only ones found are never available in this country and/or cost a frickin $734 CAD.

This trench coat had me professing my clothes-lust cos i'm just a poor sucker for colourful prints.

Bohemian Glamour and Friendship Bands

Do you remember back in Pri school when friendship bracelets were the in-thing ? Well a friend of mine and I got into that topic yesterday when we were reminiscing the era when boy bands like Take That take prestige in our naïve little world and friendship was mostly about who agrees with you that the boy sitting in that fourth row was cute. The retrospective conversation ended up in shits and giggles and the question why adults do not exchange bracelets anymore. Is it because of the complexities of their social circle or their profound partiality for a conformed fashion sense ?

We concluded that humans, as adults are basically stupid, because friendship bracelets were cool.
So we decided to do a little exchange on our own.

I went online for ideas and found this website that rediscovers this quaint little tradition with a more stylish approach using safety pins and tiny beads.

The Shirt is Cotton

I stopped shopping for clothes early this year. This is partly due to my losing connection to the fashion trends that are so deeply entrenched in our metropolitan country - preferring instead, to spend my hard-earned cash on home art, books and toys that are crucial in my art/gadget-centric universe.

But my clothes are getting a tad too overused and I do need to shop sometime. So what do I do ?
Instead of going to mid-end boutiques or stores with ridiculously overpriced t-shirts, I trawl the internet.

Why bother with mass-produced commercialized clothes when there are unknown designers that do equally awesome graphic tees ?
